This year, the focus is on identifying and developing potential.
The conference includes a half day professional CE workshop on Friday September 23rd, "Evaluating Different Approaches for Supporting Children with Autism." Dr. Stephen Shore, an acclaimed author and professor, who himself has been diagnosed with autism, will present the workshop. CE credits will be awarded.
Dr. Shore will also be keynote speaker for the general conference on Saturday, September 24th, presenting, "College for Students with Disabilities: We Do Belong."
Other Saturday conference presentations, all focusing on the topic of "potential," include developing potential in pre-schoolers, legal issues, managing anxiety and behavior, educational interventions, college planning, outstanding college alumni, and transitioning into the workplace.
The exhibit hall features local and regional resources, services, and schools.
The conference takes place at the Bethesda Pooks Hill Marriott in Bethesda, Maryland.
